A2 - Philip Glick’s Descendents

A2 Philip Glick b 1750 Germany. Came with parents 23 Oct 1754. Settled Berks Co. Pa. Learned blacksmith from father. Descendants claim in Revolutionary War with four brothers, maybe as a blacksmith or substitute for a sick brother but the Pa. Roster fails to name him. Philip with brothers Johan Daniel and Peter went to Fairfield Co. Ohio 1804 or 5 for government land claim. Philip died and was buried at Harrisburg, Pa. as he was returning for his wife and children. The next year his widow and maybe fifteen children crossed the Allegheny Mts in schooner wagons with Peter and his family. It took them a month to come with a few cattle, chickens and hogs, travelling at the rate of fifteen miles per day. Peter was sick or exhausted by the journey’s end and said was a good place to be buried in the dense forest. Beside the cemetery the Glick or Salem church was built.
